Chapter 1
A/N: Microsoft word screwed up and thus Mr. thingyenson's name came out as Mr. Thingyenson...I have no idea why, but bare with me please!
*****Flashback*****
“This team is too weak for me! Why can’t you grasp that, Tyson?” You yelled out of extreme anger as Daichi, Hiro, Hilary and Kenny watched from the sidelines – you had a feeling Kai was around somewhere too. You wanted to leave the Bladebreakers. Yes, you heard me right, you were advancing faster than they were, and their team skill level was infinitely smaller than your personal blading level; thus you needed a new team. You needed a team that would challenge your skills or at least would be on the same level as you.
“Because I CAN’T! You can’t just walk out on us!” Tyson argued and was about to say more, but you cut him off.
“And just why not?” Your voice had now returned to it’s normal level and you were trying to keep your cool.
“Because we’re friends! Friends don’t just betray each other like that!”
“We’re friends?” You raise an eyebrow smirking at Tyson. “Weren’t you friends with Max and Ray as well? What happened there?” You were playing with his head and he obviously knew it.
“That is different!”
“How so, pray tell?” You questioned a smirk still playing on your face; this was getting very amusing.
“They wanted to blade in the tournament and grant I don’t like that they left the team but I now understand why! You don’t even have a reason for it! Just like Kai! That’s called betrayal!” Tyson shouted boisterously.
“That it may be, but tell me one thing, Tyson.” You paused for a second and then spoke, “Am I supposed to care?”
“What are you saying?” Hiro broke in obviously as confused as his brother was. You looked over at Kenny and Hilary and then turned away. After this he’d hate you, but it wasn’t as if you’d had a chance with him in the first place, still it hurt.
You sighed as you turned away from them all and as soon as your back was towards them, you spoke. “I’m saying – if I must spell it out – I quit the BBA Revolution.”
With this said you give one last painful glance towards your best friend – Hilary – and your crush – Kenny. You’d miss them both, but you couldn’t take the pressure nor the skill level of the BBA Revolution - or lack there of - anymore.
As you headed into the distance you could hear Hiro holding Tyson back. Well the Team Captain was good for something. Now to find a team. You carefully headed to the BBA’s main office in Japan. The residence of Mr. thingyenson.
You’d been through a lot with all of the Bladebreakers and were put on the team right when Mr. thingyenson created the Bladebreakers. Now that Max, Ray and Kai were off the team, you felt there was no point in staying. Kai and Ray were gone – two of the three most powerful bladers on the team. The third one was yourself.
*&*&*&*&*&*
“Mr. thingyenson will see you now.” You nodded your head as you walked past the secretary and into the office.
“Well, (Your first name), this certainly is a surprise.”
“Mr. thingyenson I need a favor.” You stated simply, apparently he didn’t know of your taking leave from BBA Revolution.
“What is it?”
“I need a new team for the tournament. Preferably one which will challenge my skill level – or at least is on the same level as I am.”
“What?” Mr. thingyenson sounded utterly confused.
“I am no longer on BBA Revolution, their best bladers are gone and a weak team has no place for me.” You state stolidly.
“(Your first name), I –” Mr. thingyenson began sternly but was cut off by the door swinging open.
“Mr. D! (Your first name) just le–” Tyson’s eyes laid on you.
“I know Tyson, she is here requesting a new team and she won’t be getting one.”
“Excuse me?” Your jaw dropped open and you quickly shut it.
“You may have had some disagreements, but I believe you both can work it out.”
“Why do you people not get it?” You spat at both of them – you knew what you were about to say could be disrespectful to Mr. thingyenson, but at the moment you didn’t really care. “I won’t rejoin the BBA Revolution because they’ve lost most of their bladers and frankly I am not going to be stuck on a weak team! Get it through you heads I will not rejoin the BBA Revolution because they are NOT the Bladebreakers. If you won’t help me, I’ll find someone who will.”
You ran out of the office and into an elevator, leaving Mr. thingyenson and Tyson Granger stunned. Never had they witnessed an outburst like that from you, never. You normally were a quiet, logical girl, you had the fault of being power hungry but you would never go out of your way to make a point. You’d say it to the person’s face calmly, but would never yell at them. So as you can see, they were quite surprised and stunned to say the least.
*&*&*&*&*&*
You walked out of the BBA building and went back to Tyson’s dojo, remembering you had left your things there from yesterday’s practice. As soon as you entered you were bombarded by Hilary and Kenny – Hiro had left to find Tyson – and their questions and their statements.
“You can’t leave!” Hilary told you.
“Hilary, let me go. I can’t stay on this team any longer. They’ve become too weak. Let me go.” You replied, holding back tears, your best friend for two years.
“But – but (Your first name)! I thought we were friends!” Hilary’s anger now broke down into tears as you walked up to her.
“We are Hilary. Email me. You know the address, but don’t let Tyson or anyone else get at it.” She looked up at you and smiled through her tears, you couldn’t forsake her that easily and she knew it.
Now it was time to deal with Kenny, you sighed as he began, “(Your first name), I – I know that Daichi’s stats aren’t as good as yours are and neither are Tyson’s but we can improve, you know that.” So his last defense was his data and logic. It figured, after all he was The Chief.
“Kenny, you know as well as I do that those won’t improve enough in time for the tournament. There is no other logical choice than for me to leave – I can’t improve any on this team, and you know I’d rather stay friends with Tyson and everyone but I can’t do that if I’m going to end up facing him.” You stated as you turned around and quickly wiped your eyes and then started to walk away before you broke down as Hilary just had.
“You know, (your first name), you’re not as strong as I thought you were.” This stopped you in your tracks. You couldn’t believe Kenny of all people had just said that to you. You didn’t think he had the guts to, considering he could hardly blade himself – what right did he have to tell you such a thing?
“What?” You turned back around to see Hilary wiping her eyes.
“Max and Ray can remain friends with Tyson, and they’re going to have to battle against him at some point in the tournament. If you can’t remain friends with us after going to a new team, doesn’t that make you weaker than them?”
“No. No it doesn’t.” You replied in a stoic tone. “I can’t have anything holding me back when I’m beat Tyson, if I’m friends with him the thought of trashing his Dragoon may hold me back from winning the fight. In my opinion it’s weakness not strength. It’s logical after all, but if you want to believe otherwise then go right ahead.”
“(Your first name). What about us? Are you willing to remain friends with us?” You heard Hilary’s voice call out to you.
“I’ve told you that Hilary. I will remain friends with you. But since Kenny seems to side with Tyson and the ‘strength is friendship’ ideal, I’m wondering if he wishes to remain friends.”
“Of course I do (Your first name), but I –”
“You can’t? Your morals and ideals won’t allow you to? I get it.” You whirled around and started to walk away with your backpack in hand that you had picked up.
“No, (your first name), that isn’t it!” Kenny shouted to you and you stopped dead in your tracks.
“Then what is it?” You asked in a sharp tone.
Silence and the chirping of the birds was all that was heard. You silently sighed as you continued to walk out of the dojo front yard.
“Tell me when you figure it out.” Is your last line towards him. It hurts you so much to do that, but you know it’s necessary, and you won’t allow yourself to give in to the brown haired Bladebreaker whom you love so much, because then you will be weaker than ever before. Much less your pride will be more broken than your heart is at the moment.
You run down the street, tears streaming down your cheeks, as you turn right at an intersection towards the nearest hotel. You were from Australia, and naturally were boarding at Tyson’s as your parents lived in Australia.
You checked into the hotel, asking for a room on the top floor. It was now time to try your second and last resort for a new team.
*****End of Flashback*****
A bright light hits your eyes as a beeping noise starts. You groan as you turn over into your pillow trying to block out the light and the sound, it doesn’t work. With a groan, you roll onto your back and then pound the alarm clock’s off button. You finally get the energy to sit up and waddle into the bathroom to take a shower.
*&*&*&*&*&*
A half hour later you are as ready as you’ll ever be, in your navy blue jeans and a white tank top topped over with a black dress shirt acting as a jacket. You pull on your blue and white runners as brush your long (hair color) hair.
You then stare at yourself in the mirror. Something about you didn’t look right, no you were hallucinating everything looked just as it did yesterday. That was the problem. If you were going to search for a new team, you needed a new look. Nobody wanted a had-been Bladebreaker, that was for sure. With this thought you rummaged around in your back pack.
Pulling out a pair of scissors, a bottle of bleach, your red eye contacts (which you never wore), and a small golden earring for one of your ears, you set to work.
You almost mourn as your hair falls to the ground, thankfully, having taken a course in hair design at school; you had an idea of what you were doing. Cutting and snipping for about ten minutes brought you to a conclusion. Your hair style now looks as if it is Yzak’s off of Gundam Seed and your eyes look like Hiro’s off of Fruits Basket. Platinum blonde hair and big red eyes have certainly changed the (your full name) everyone has come to know. Now she is hardly recognizable and looks more like a boy than the girl she is or at least had been. You change into a sports bra and a plain red t-shirt, realizing it would look weird for a boy to be wearing a tank top, or at least one that looked like yours.
You sigh, and look in the mirror, you look different, but are satisfied with the job you have done. Now it’s time for a new wardrobe, you grin into the hotel mirror, well you still have the money that mom and dad sent you for birthday money and now would be the time to spend it. So you head out of the hotel, but don’t sign out as you have paid for two nights there and aren’t about to waste your money.
The mall is around two blocks away and so you start to walk thinking about all of yesterday’s commotion. What had Kenny been trying to tell you? You wonder as you walked into the mall and automatically head for you favorite store and then stop a few feet before the entrance realizing that you had to go to a guys’ store if you were going to pull your new look off. You knew your true identity would be revealed as soon as the BBA Revolution saw you blading with your bit-beast Nakia, but until then you wanted a new identity and you’d need one were you going to be accepted into a team.
Immediately, you turned around and headed for Wal-Mart ® once you enter the store you walk towards the men’s section. After a few minutes, you find a pair of burgundy cargo pants similar to Kai’s but not exact as they flair out at the bottom. You also find a plain black t-shirt a size too big and a silver vest.
You amble down the escalator and stand in the cashier line after another five minutes it’s your turn. “And that comes to $34.29.” You hand the girl the money as she sticks the clothes in a bag.
You walk out of the store and out of the mall. You head back to your hotel room and once you’ve checked in, you run into the elevator.
“Alright, let’s see how these look.” You tell yourself as you open your room, go inside and lock the door.
You put on the new outfit and when you look in the mirror you nearly fall over. You looked nothing like yourself. Your hair cut, bleach job, contact lenses, and new attire made you look like a guy – okay so a feminine guy, still it worked!
You sigh, as you put your old clothes back on and take out a novel, hoping to get your mind off the mess, you had come to call your life.
*&*&*&*&*&*
“BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!” Your alarm clock goes off and you immediately pound on it. You roll over and stare at the clock, nine am, time to get moving. You get up and brush your hair thoroughly, surprised at the time it took to get all the knots out. That’s right, you had short hair now and it was nice.
If I’d of known my hair would be this easy to manage, I’d have done this sooner, you think smiling. You’re in a good mood this morning, but then you remember what you were doing today and that brings your mind back to BBA Revolution, Mr. thingyenson and the whole fiasco from two days ago. Joy.
You shower, brush your hair again, brush your teeth and put on the new outfit you bought yesterday. You then give yourself a full look over in the mirror before shoving your old clothes, novel, wallet and alarm clock into your backpack. You then grab your key card for your room and head out.
After you check out of the hotel, you walk down the street and make a left into a coffee shop. While you buy a Chai Latte you ask the waiter for directions and he gives them to you, giving you a strange look.
“Why would you want to be going to a place like that?”
“I have business there.” You reply as you take a sip of your Chai Latte and pay him, signaling the end of the discussion.
“Good luck then.” Are the waiter’s last words as you head out onto the street, in search of your destination.
It was now time to try your second and last resort for a new team.
Boris.

A/N: Well, what’d you think, should I continue? Please R&R and tell me! By the way, the pairing for this is undecided, but I’ve decided it’s either going to be Kenny or Tala. I’m not asking for votes but if you’d like to give your opinion on which character it should be, with logical reasoning, I’ll definitely take that into account when I decide.
