Chapter 3
*&*&*&*&*&*
“…” Your eyes widened as you walked into a humongous and I mean humongous room. It had to be at least one hundred and seventy-five feet deep and three hundred feet wide or more.
One fourth of the room looked as if it were for beybattling as three professional sized classic dishes – black, red and blue – sat in a triangular shape. Another fourth of the room had a bunch of weird looking seats complete with some kind of computer and what looked to be virtual simulators or something. The other half of it looked to be normal exercise gear complete with all different weight machines – some of which you didn’t know existed – and a track around the weights. Your first thought was something around the lines of, I wonder how much all this cost them?
“Come on (Your first name), you need an introduction to the virtual machines.” Kai told you as you followed him across the vast room towards the corner where the weird computer things you had seen existed.
“Virtual machines?” Your eyebrows furrowed, they looked very advanced. Very, very advanced.
“You’ll see. Put this on.” Kai handed you a pair of – well you weren’t quite sure what they were. Some sort of techno gadget that was certain, and they resembled some kind of sunglasses with a hat attached and weighed a ton.
You looked it over and over, not trusting Boris to provide safe gear for his team, I mean look at what had happened a few years back. “(Your first name) it’s safe, just put it on.” Kai sighed quietly in exasperation, although he knew you were cautious of everything and everyone you didn’t trust, you went a little overboard sometimes.
Putting it on was more of a challenge then it had first appeared to be. You put it on your head fine, and then started to do up the straps, like a bicycle helmet except it had waaay more straps, then any sane person would put on it. Thus you knew it was Boris-built (a/n: Lol…Boris-built, talk about alliteration!).
“Finally!” You growled doing up the last strap and then realizing how weird it felt.
“Oh well look who it is.” A new voice echoed through out the room and you and Kai turned to see Tala walking straight towards you.
“What do you want?” You snapped; putting on that helmet had put you in a bad mood.
“Ooh testy…” Tala trailed off smirking, as he lifted his hands in mock defense. He then turned to Kai, “You do know that I have no intention of babysitting that brat right?”
You glared at him; he didn’t appear to be phased. You seethed as he continued; you were really starting to hate this guy.
“You want her to live through this tournament, you watch her.” Tala finished, completely ignoring you.
Kai glared at him and snorted, “She’ll survive on her own.”
“HELLO?” You yelled at the top of your lungs and they both turned to you. “You mind not talking about me like I’m not here?”
“No.” Tala smirked at you as he turned and strode off like the arrogant, pompous, egotistical (a/n: getting a bit redundant aren’t we? Lol) jerk that he was! “Oh and you have that thing on backwards.”
Your face broke out into a death glare of pure annoyance and hate, a mix of which the world had not yet seen from (Your full name). You growled, but before you had a chance to let loose, Kai interrupted you.
“Calm down.”
“No.” You obstinately replied, now realizing Tala was almost out of the gymnasium. “Valkov!”
Named person turned around and quirked an eyebrow whilst glaring icily, “What?”
“Care to let your beyblade do your talking for you?” You motioned towards the dish in a mock-elegant manner.
Tala swiveled around with a smirk on his face, “Challenge accepted.”
You evened the score out with a smile tugging at your lips as Kai watched the two of you with a definite interest.
All three of you walked towards the nearest beystadium. It was a black classic bowl, and it was designed for maximum movement with ease. Not very challenging, but at the same time, it seemed to fit the match you were about to have perfectly.
You took out your beyblade and readied it onto your launcher. Now, Nakia, let’s bring his ego down a few notches, shall we? You smirked as Tala readied his beyblade and you both bent over the stadium.
“LET IT RIP!” He yelled as you both released your beyblades and with that, it started.
Your beyblades whirled around each other in the dish. Tala’s goes in for an attack on yours as you evade it.
“Nakia evade!” You yelled, as your beyblade moves at an unknown speed and for a few seconds can be deemed invisible.
It reappears and Wolborg chases after it, or rather both blades go round and round the beydish in a rather repetitive style. After a few seconds you get bored with it and decide that now would be the time to spice up the battle.
Tala’s beyblade isn’t built for endurance, well not as well as yours is anyways and since it’s been spinning for quite a while now…
“NAKIA! FIRE RUSH!” You shout as your bit-beast throws back her horse head and her unicorn horn lights up in a golden red statement of warmth. With this done, she rushes towards Wolborg, who is currently starting up a Blizzalog attack.
The two clashed and from the dish came a hurricane of fire and ice and it only gets bigger. The two blades clashed with each other again as sparks from the metal of the dish added to the hurricane. You repeated your attack as Tala did his and suddenly a spark flies out of the dish at you and you moved back a little to avoid being burnt to a crisp.
“COME ON NAKIA! APPREHENSIBLE DARKNESS AND THEN WATER BLIZZARD!” You didn’t want to burn down the gymnasium (although it would have been fun to see what the damage repairs would cost) with all the smoldering sparks flying out of the dish and thus decided to stop your fire attack and Tala’s ice attack.
Nakia obeyed your orders and out of her mouth came water, with the pressure of a thousand fire hoses. Before that, out of her eyes came thick smoke, a cloud of it covered the field making all of the blades and bit-beasts invisible to the owners. This included yours, but as this was your attack you trained yourself to keep in contact with your beyblade when you couldn’t see it, unfortunately, so was Tala.
“Hm, you think that amateur attack will work on me? You’re more pathetic than I originally thought.”
“Really? You think?” You replied, as you got ready for your final and most powerful attack.
“More so than you.” Tala came back at your beyblade with a Vinalog attack.
You ignored him and started your final attack, Tala’s beyblade was spinning a little slower now, and as a result you knew it was losing its spin. This battle had been way too dragged out for both your tastes, as it appeared Tala had the same idea.
“NAKIA! ULTIMATE ELEMENT ATTACK!” You shouted just as Tala yelled his out.
“WOLBORG! BLIZZALOG FINAL ATTACK!”
You and Tala’s beyblades clashed with one final and powerful blow, head on.
“Clack.” A beyblade flew out of the stadium and hit the gymnasium floor.
You looked in shock, “I…lost?” You couldn’t believe it, Tala Valkov had beaten you! What the heck? But I had all the facts, and I had it all planned out and….
“I’ve improved since two years ago, you know.” You looked up to see Tala smirking at you. “Unlike some people.”
“Shut it Valkov.” You replied stonily and turned away, beyblade in hand.
You walked over to the track and started to run, yes, you hated running with a passion but it was better than standing there and having Tala make fun of you.
A few minutes passed and when you looked back over to the beystadium you saw Tala and Kai talking. You turned back and concentrated on your running as a thought passed through your head.
I wonder what Kenny and Tyson are doing now?
NO! You told yourself sternly. You had decided that you were going to forget all about the Bladebreakers the minute you left BBA Revolution; they were opponents, although you still kept in touch with Hilary. Everyone else was a beyblader, which meant that they were competition, nothing more.
*&*&*&*&*&*
A few hours had passed since you had battled Tala and lost, and you had just finished training. You were now heading back up to your and Kai’s hotel room. 655 right? You concentrated to remember the room number. Ah well, let’s see if the key card fits.
Yep, it worked, and this was the right room. You walked into the room, to find no one. Well no duh, you remembered, Kai was still at the training facility when I left.
You walked over to the mirror, looked at yourself and sighed. You weren’t (your full name) anymore, and never would be again. You had changed physically and mentally.
Such a shame you had lose everything held dear in the process though, your inner voice cackled mockingly.
Shut up, you told yourself. I lost nothing.
Are you sure about that?
You sighed; as anticipated this would go on forever if you let it. I’m going for a walk.
You quickly took a shower and blow dried your short hair. You then changed into a separate outfit consisting of: a plain red t-shirt, your same silver vest and a pair of navy blue cargo pants as well as your runners.
You gave yourself one last look in the mirror before heading out of the room, making sure to put your key card in one of your pants’ pockets.
You sighed – something you had been doing an awful lot of lately. This week had been a weird one, and you couldn’t even begin to predict how a day would go. What would happen next? It was like your life was one weird reality TV show.
“ATTENTION ALL BLITZKRIEG BOYS! YOUR PRESCENCE IS REQUIRED IN THE MAIN FOYER MOMENTARILY!” The intercom announced loud and clear right above your head.
“So much for my walk…” You grumbled as you shoved your hands into your pockets and headed for the nearest elevator, which happened to be only seven feet away.
“Hiiro.” Spencer’s voice came as you entered the elevator. “You know that we all know that isn’t your real name right, (Your first name)?”
You nodded, “But I need an alias for the tournament. I’d appreciate if you’d stick with the name Hiiro for the tournament.”
“Why? Don’t want your friends to find out you betrayed them?” Spencer’s calm and cool voice caught you off guard.
“No.”
“Then what?” Spencer’s voice didn’t hold any curiosity at all. No, it held a matter-of-fact tone, and for some reason you felt obligated to answer.
Instead you forced yourself to keep your mouth shut and ignored the inquire that had been made.
The elevator bell dinged and the doors opened and out you and Spencer marched. It was time to see what Boris wanted, yippee.
You walked into the main lobby followed by Spencer and noticed Bryan giving you an icy death glare. If looks could kill you would’ve been sent to the inner circle of hell and maybe further by the time you sat down.
“Now. What I’ve called you all here to address is the upcoming tournament.” Boris stated as he strode superciliously into the room.
“The first team that the Blitzkrieg Boys will be facing will be…” He paused dragging out the suspense and then restarted his sentence. “The first team we’ll be facing will be the BBA Revolution.”
The words hung in the air like a musty smell on a hot summer’s day. You sat, in pure and utter shock. ‘We’ll be facing will be the BBA Revolution.’ Boris’ words replayed themselves time and time again in your mind.
“BBA Revolution, eh? That’ll be fun, won’t it, Hiiro?” Tala was the first to speak as he smirked at you.
“Yeah, sure.” Was all you could get out, from the initial shock you seemed to be going through, Tala’s insults etc. were the last things on your mind right now.
BBA Revolution, we’ll be facing them tomorrow…
