Dear Diary,
I swore I would never start a diary. I thought it was too girly, but here I am writing a diary. My name is (your first name) (your last name) and I live in the small country town of Rizembool. I grew up with Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric, oh, and I can’t forget Winry Rockbell. They were my best friends since, oh, forever, but after the ‘accident’, Al and Ed became distant and different. They started talking about become State Alchemists then one day they burnt down their house, their childhood and left. That was the last time I saw them. I heard news every once in a while but other then that I had no idea where they were or how they were, and it hurt. It wasn’t fair that Winry got to go visit them and I couldn’t. I missed them just as much as she did maybe even more. But hopefully Ed and Al will come back, alive. Hopefully.
You closed your diary and set your pen down on top of it. Sighing, you looked out your window to see the vast fields and the setting sun. Deciding to go for a walk, you got up from your desk and headed out of your room. Yelling to your father that you were going out for a walk, you exited the house, walking down the dirt road. You knew exactly where you were going; you went there every day.
Stopping in a field you picked a bouquet of wild flowers, her favorite. Setting off down the road again you finally reached your destination… Ed and Al’s mother’s grave. She had been like a mother to you to. You never having a mother, well, you did have a mother, it’s just you’ve never met her. So Ed and Al’s mother was just as close.
Every day you brought her flowers. Since Ed and Al weren’t around to do it someone had to. Kneeling down in front of the grave, you set the flowers down on the ground and just closed your eyes. Going back into the memories of your childhood before everything went wrong.
!~!~!~!~!~!~!~Flashback~!~!~!~!~!~!~!
“EDWARD ELRIC GET YOUR PUNY BUTT OUT HERE NOW!!!!” It was another game of find Ed but you always won. Why? Because Ed was too predictable. Counting down on your fingers
“5…4…3…2…1” then you made a motion outwards with your hand when you heard
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING A TINY BUG THAT ESCAPES THE WRATH OF A SHOE BECAUSE HE’S SO SMALL THAT HE FITS IN THE GROOVES AND CAN’T GET SQUASHED?” You giggled, like you said too predictable.
“Ed, please, are you coming with Winry, Al and myself or not?” you asked. You and Winry had decided to go apple picking in the local apple orchard and Al could only come if Ed did, so that’s what started the whole ‘Find Ed’ game you were playing. Be-Grudgingly Ed exits the barn were he had been doing God knows what.
“Fine I’ll go but only this one time, ok.” You sighed.
“Ed, you said that last time.” He looked at you with a frown.
“Well this time I mean it.” You giggled and started walking down the dirt road to meet up with Winry and Al.
“You said that last time to and the time before that, and the time before that, OH and you can’t forget that time.” Ed growled.
“(your name).” You looked at Ed with a frown.
“Yes, Ed?” Ed looked up with you with an evil glint in his eye.
“Run.” Your eyes widened at what Ed had just said taking a big gulp you ran at full speed down the dirt road, with Ed close on your tail.
!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~End of Flash Back~!~!~!~!~!~!~!
You were laughing slightly, that had been one of the best memories you had of Ed. But you still had tears at the corners of your eyes, Ed had been your best friend and when his mother died you lost a piece of your heart then when Ed and Al left you lost another piece. Halfhearted and sad you didn’t know how to go on sometimes but you knew that if Ed could live through automail surgery you could live through this.
Standing back up, you wiped the tears out of your eyes with the corner of your shirt. “I’ll be back tomorrow, Trisha.”
Heading off down the small hill towards your house, you watch as the sun hits the horizon painting the sky colors of pink, orange, red and yellow.
‘Don’t get too close to the sun, Ed, you might get burned.’ Walking down the road, you reach your house. Opening the door you take one more good look at the sky, now it’s totally dark with white specks known as stars glimmering brightly above. Sighing you remember another time with Ed.
!~!~!~!~!~!~!~Flashback~!~!~!~!~!~!~!
“Look its Orion’s Belt.” You said as you pointed your finger towards some stars in the sky.
“Where? I can’t see it.” You sigh and turn your head toward the blonde boy next you.
“See those stars there.” You said again pointing to the same stars. Ed nodded
“That’s Orion’s Belt.” Ed grunted.
“That’s no belt, that’s just a bunch of stars.” You sighed and shook your head.
“Whatever you say Ed.” You and Ed were lying in the grass on top of a hill, just staring at the stars. You were having the time of your life, but Ed was slowly draining the fun by not having any himself.
“Look there’s the big dipper and the little dipper.” You said the excitement rising in your voice.
“How do you spot all these things?” Ed asks. You turn your head to look at him and shrug.
“I just use my imagination.” You said while drawing an imaginary rainbow with your fingers. (a/n- To much spongebob for me) Ed looked at you like you’ve jumped off the deep end.
“What?” you innocently asked. Ed shook his head.
“Nothing, just nothing.” You shrug and turn your head to look back up at the stars.
“Oh, Ed, look, a shooting star!” You sit up still looking at the sky.
“Make a wish, Ed.” Ed snorts.
"Why would I do something like that?” You turn to look at him with a frown plastered to your face.
“Please, Ed? For me?” Ed sighed.
“Fine, I’ll do it.” You squeal with excitement and close your eyes tight.
A few seconds later you pop your eyes open smiling. You turn to look at Ed who’s looking at you.
“What?” Ed shakes his head
“Nothing.” You shrug and stand up, Ed doing the same.
“What did you wish for?” you look at Ed and laugh
“Well if I tell you then it’ll never come true, now will it?” Ed was about to say something when you saw a light being flashed on and off in the distant.
“Come on Ed it’s time to go home.” You grabbed Ed’s hand and made your way down the hill to Ed’s house.
!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~End Of Flashback~!~!~!~!~!~!
Tears finally dripping down your cheeks you sniffled a little bit and close the door to your house, blocking the sky from your view. Heading back up stairs to your room, you passed a picture of you, Ed, Al, and Winry hanging on the wall. You remove the picture and just stared, letting the silent tears fall onto the frame. Taking the picture with you, you enter your room and just lie on your bed, tracing Ed and Al’s figures until you cry yourself asleep.
- So what do you think should I keep going or stop while I'm ahead? I had my friend beta this and she really liked it and said if she ever saw it she would read it so that gave me confidence to post *giggles* so if you read and review and give me your opinion I'll give you a roy or ed plushie or what ever plushie you so truly desire *giggles*.
