Wow! I didn't think I'd have this chapter up for a long time but once I started writing I just couldn't stop *giggles* I would also recommend listening to 'Witness' by Sarah McLachlan while reading this lyrics have to do with some of the feelings in the story!

Dear Diary,
Another day without Ed. Sometimes I just sit in my room tracing the cracks in the ceiling, counting the years, days, hours, and minutes until I’ll see him again. Diary, have you ever lost a friend, a friend like Ed? Ha, what a funny question to ask a diary. Of course you haven’t. You can’t even talk or breathe; how could you have friends? I know I should try to move on with my life but Ed… he was such a vital part of my life that I just can’t move on, that’s how important he is to me. I’m lost in a puddle of thoughts and sadly I’m drowning. Maybe one day the sun will shine and the puddle will disappear and I’ll be able to breathe again. But until then my puddle will grow larger as I drown thinking of the sun yet to be seen.
‘What day is it?’ you looked up from your diary. You looked towards the wall where your calendar hung. ‘I’ve totally forgot what day of the week it is they all just seem to blend together.’<br>
“Ah…Tuesday, Ed’s favorite day.” Tuesday many more memories were held by that day. Why was it Ed’s favorite day? Well that’s when your father would take Ed, Al, Winry, and yourself down to the beach.
!~!~!~!~!~!~Flashback~!~!~!~!~!~!
“COME ON DAD WE’RE GOING TO BE LATE!!!” screaming at your father who was slowly eating his breakfast you bounce down the stairs holding a towel and beach toys in your (insert favorite color) bathing suit.
“(y/n), will you please at least have some breakfast.” You stop mid step and stare at your father like he’s lost his mind.
“But dddddaaaaaadddddddd…if I eat breakfast I won’t be able to swim in the water for at least two hours!!!” now it was your fathers turn to stare at you like you lost your mind.
“Who told you that?” you frown and bring your finger to your chin.
“Hm…Oh yeah it was Ed!” nodding enthusiastically to prove your point. Your father sighs and goes back to eating, mumbling something about children and their overactive imaginations.
Not hearing a word your father says you race out to your father’s car. Opening the back door you ram in the beach toys. Upon closing the door you spot four people walking down the road towards your house. Know exactly who they were you jump up and down.
“DAD! ED, AL, WINRY, AND TRISHA ARE HERE!” yelling to your father, who appears in the door way a couple minutes later, holding beach chairs and dragging a cooler behind him.
“(y/n) could you please open up the door for me?” you nod and open the door not letting your eyes leave the road. Your dad shakes his head at your antics while pushing aside the beach toys and setting the beach chairs and cooler in the car.
“Hey (y/n), Niles.” You turned when you heard Trisha speak.
“TRISHA!” running towards Trisha you give her a big bear hug or as big as a little girl like you can give a grown woman. Trisha just laughed at your antics.
“It’s nice to see you to (y/n).” she said patting the top of your head. You delatch your self from her and give her your biggest grin. Turning you smile and wave at Ed, Al, and Winry.
“Well I think we better get going if we’re going to beat the tourists.” All at the same time you, Ed, Al, and Winry say.
“I HATE TOURISTS!” Trisha and Niles shake their heads at the four of you.
“Well you better get in that car then or they’ll beat you to the beach.” You and everybody else didn’t need to be told twice. You scrambled into the car like your lives depended on it. Your Dad walked around to the driver side of the car.
“See-Ya Trish.” Your father said giving her a wave.
“Bye Trisha!” You and Winry waved good-bye
“Bye Mom!” Ed and Al said out the window.
Trisha laughed and waved back “Bye I’ll be here when you guys get back. Have Fun!” she said to the retreating car. Still laughing she walked into your house.
!~!~!~!~!~!~End Of Flashback~!~!~!~!~!~!
Yup, every Tuesday you went to the beach early to beat the tourists. You guys ate hotdogs and potato salad filled with sand till you burst. Playing in the sand, making sand castles and burying each other in the sand.
“Hey Dad.” You said as you walked down the stairs into the kitchen. Your father looked up at you from his newspaper and gave you a smile.
“Hey Hun’, would you do me a favor? You looked at your father.
“Sure, anything.” Walking over to your father you hug him from behind, your arms around his neck. He chuckled.
“Go down to the store and buy some milk.” You laughed.
“Yeah, sure Dad. Where’s the money?” Your dad pointed to the counter that held just enough for milk and a stick of candy. You head towards the door, sliding on your coat you wave goodbye to your Dad and head out the door.
Walking down the dirt road, you kick a pebble around. Waving to some of the locals you make your way further down the road kicking up dirt clouds as you kick the small pebble.
Reaching the store you open the door, making it creak. Looking around the store you spot the counter in the back. Heading to the counter you plop your money down and give the storeowner a grin.
“Could I please have a bottle of milk and a stick of candy?” The storeowner laughs, she’s known you since you were little and was use to your antics.
“Sure, darling.” Heading into the back room you remember all the times you had visited this same store with Ed.
!~!~!~!~!~!~Flashback~!~!~!~!~!~!
You and Ed were walking down the dirt road kicking pebbles along with dust clouds. Your Dad had given you and Ed enough money for two sticks of candy, and right when that money had reached your hands you and Ed were out of there like lightning.
“Come on Ed, I’ll race ya!” you said giving the pint-sized blonde next to you a challenge he would never refuse.
“You’re on!” You stopped and stuffed your money into your pocket, Ed doing the same. Getting into your stances, you yelled out.
“On your mark…get set…HEY ED THAT’S CHEATING!” You screamed after the blonde. All he did was turn his head back to you and yell.
“NO IT’S CALLED A HEAD START!” you growled then took off after the cheating scoundrel, leaving a puff of dust behind you.
Catching up to Ed was no small task. This boy ran everywhere, but so did you so you caught up after a while. Seeing the store come into view you put a little more power into your running and sped up past Ed.
Reaching the store you stop and put your hands on your knees, letting in the much-needed air into your lungs. Looking up you see Ed jogging up to the store.
“Beat ya” is all you say. Ed gives you a glare while trying to catch his breath. Standing up right you take your money out of your pocket and head into the store, Ed close on your heels. Walking to the back counter you set your money onto the counter.
“Can I have a stick of candy?” The store clerk looks up at you.
“Sure thing (y/n), one for you to Ed?” Ed gives her a nod while setting his money down on the counter. The clerk smiles and nods before heading into the back. After a few minutes she comes back out holding two sticks of candy.
“Here you go.” She says handing the pieces of candy to Ed and yourself. You both stick the candy into your mouth. Mumbling a thank you and Ed head out the door and back to your house.
!~!~!~!~!~!~End Of Flashback~!~!~!~!~!~!
“Here you go.” You look up to the smiling face of the clerk. You smile and slide the money across the counter.
“Thanks.” You grab the milk and stick the candy into your mouth on the way out the door. Now it's back to drowning in your own memories.
-And theres the second chapter for you guys. I'm finished the third chapter but my beta has yet to return the revised version but once she does you'll have your third chapter. Please read and review *giggles*
