Audie Smith- Hello every one this is a You/Quatre one-shot/songfic that I made a dedicated to my best friend Archer. She owns all rights to this story because I gave them to her, but I'm going to post this because I wanna see what you think and if I'm good at one-shots or if I should just stop while I'm ahead.

~Summer has come and past.
The innocent can never last.
Wake me up when September ends.~
How long has it been since you last saw him? A day, a week, a month, a year or more? Now its September you’re amazed you made it this far with out him. You’re amazingly depressed with out him. Why wouldn’t you be? He was your world.
Walking down the street you marvel at the trees and their different colors. Red, Yellow, Brown, maybe even Gold. Gold…..like the sun hitting his hair. How you loved to run your fingers through his golden locks as he lay sleeping. Sighing you tear your eyes away from the trees, away from every thing. They all hold to many memories of him.
Putting your hand to your stomach you feel a small kick. This is the only thing that can get you to smile, besides him. He didn’t know, and if he never came back, he’ll never know. You pat your stomach to reassure your self that he’ll come back. He has to, he promised.

Seven years has gone so fast.
Wake me up when September ends.~
You had always been there for him, and vise versa. When the only man in your life, besides him, that you loved more than life it’s self died, he was there. He was there for you for seven years. Seven years…..now who can say ‘I’ve been with him for seven years and we’re not even married!’. Not many, but he was different from the rest and that’s why you loved him.
Entering your house you hang your coat in the closet, next to his. Turning on the light you sigh, it was filled with things that reminded you of him. Pictures, tokens, clothes, everything. He left you with only a note of good bye. You kept that note on your bed side table as a constant reminder of his return. You’re still waiting.
Walking into your room you pick up the note and re-read the message that you have memorized by heart.
Dear (y/n),
I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I was leaving. The war is getting worse and they need all of the Gundam’s help. Don’t worry I’ll be back as soon as I can. Wait for me.

You smile at the note. Quatre Raberba Winner, pilot of the Gundam Sandrock. He was your best friend, you lover, and the father of your un-born child. Setting the note back down on the table you put your hand back on your large belly. Quatre didn’t know you were pregnant. You were planning on telling him in a letter, but you just couldn’t bring yourself to do it.
What if he didn’t want it? What if he hated you? Those are question that you knew you were going to have to face sooner or later, but hopefully later.

Falling from the stars.
Drenched in my pain again,~
Looking out the window you notice it’s raining. You loved the rain, it hide the pain you felt. Every one was always depressed when it rained so you didn’t look any different to them. Walking over to the window, you place your hand onto the glass and watch as the water droplets start to fall down the window leaving water paths behind them.
You won’t cry though. You’ll save your tears for when he gets back, you’ll save your tears for joy not sadness. You remember the day Quatre told you that.

“Quatre! You can’t go!” you were standing in your living room watching as Quatre prepared his bag to leave.
Quatre had been called on another mission for war right before Christmas. You were deeply saddened by this; he had missed Christmas last year because of a mission to. You felt the tears brimming at the corners of your eyes.
You didn’t want him to leave, he always left. You watched as he walked out of your room, bag in hand. He saw your face and a lopsided grin fell upon his face. Setting his bag down on the floor he walks over to you.
Putting his hand to your face he brushes the tears out of your eyes, with a smile. You grab his hand and hold onto it for dear life.
“Save your tears for joy not sadness. Don’t cry when I leave, cry when I return.” You look up into his blue eyes and you can’t help but smile at him.
You know he has to leave; you just don’t want him to. He pulls you into a hug. Placing your head on his shoulder you take in his features. His beautiful blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin, you love everything about him. You kiss his neck as you pull away and look into his eyes.
“You promise you’ll come back?” he smiles down at you with a smile that could warm the coldest day.
“I promise.” You smile and inch your face closer to his as your lips meet in a sweet, innocent kiss.

And he kept his promise. He came home and stayed for a good year before being called away on this last mission. Getting into a large t-shirt and some very lose pajama pants, you plant your self on the couch. It’s time to feed out those pregnancy cravings.

“AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!” Sweat cascades down your face. Your (h/c) hair in knots.
“Ok (y/n) it’s time to push.” Taking a deep breath you start pushing will all your might.
“1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10 ok (y/n) good job.” Your breathing is coming out in ragged breaths. You wish Quatre was here, he had to be here. But he wasn’t and there wasn’t anything you could do.
The nurses and doctors were all smiling at you telling you what a wonderful job you were doing. You were just so tired; you wanted to just give up. But if you gave up you knew the baby would die, and you just couldn’t do that.
“Ok the baby’s head’s crowning. One more push (y/n) one more push.” Nodding your head you grab a hold of the nurse’s hand, take a deep breath and push with the most force ever.
Suddenly you hear many sighs of relief and crying. You give a huge sigh and lay your head back onto the pillow. It was over. Closing your eyes you try to get your breathing back to its normal rate.
“(Y/n) open your eyes.” You slowly open your (e/c) eyes and look up into the face of the smiling nurse. She’s holding your daughter wrapped in a pink blanket. You smile the biggest smile you have ever smiled before and raise your hands up to hold her.
The nurse sets her in your arms and you bring her to your body. Moving some of the blanket away from her face you can see she looks exactly like Quatre, blonde hair albeit a little of it, and blue eyes.
“What’s her name?” you look up at the doctor who has a birth certificate and a pen at ready.
“Um……..” you look down at your daughter as you think of the appropriate name for her.
“Shamara Amina Winner.”

“Shamara it’s time for you walk sweetheart.” Walking into the nursery, you walk over the white crib standing against the adjacent wall.
It was finally spring and it was beautiful out. You look down into the crib and smile. Laying in a little pink dress is a beautiful little girl with curly blonde hair and wide blue eyes. She looked just like her father, only female.
She makes a cooing noise as you bend over the crib and pick her up. “Are you ready to go for a walk in your stroller?” giving her a kiss on the nose you place her in your arms as you go to locate the stroller.
Finding it just were you left it you set Shamara into the stroller, buckling her safely in. You take the stroller out onto the porch. You can hear Shamara giggling the whole way. She loves these walks.
Walking down the side walk you can smell the sakura blossoms and you can also hear the sounds of bells ringing from some church. Smiling you make your way further down the side walk to the park. You took Shamara to the park every day; one day you hope Quatre will be able to join the two of you.
